Today IS class was only 2 hours, out of the 4 hours on timetable. Last week, I had prebooked a slot at 12.30 to donate my blood at the convention centre. The event was organised by Ngee Ann's Red Cross Chapter.
It was my first time donating blood, so I did not really know what to expect.
After class, I waited for Chin Chuan, then we went to the convention centre. Firstly, we were required to fill in a detailed questionnaire, questions ranging from the donor's travel, medical history.
After filling in the questionnaire, I gave my form to someone there to enter my details and then I waited before being assessed by a medical officer . After that, another wait before having a blood test. I dont know exactly what they are testing for, but it involved one of your fingers being pricked. It didnt hurt as much as I thought. Next, another long wait before the actual blood donation takes place.
Firstly, I waited again before I was attended to on the bench. Fortunately, they provided blankets because the room was rather cold. My right inner elbow got disinfected before being injected with something, I think its some sort of painkiller, while squeezing a stress ball. Then finally, they inserted a cannula into the vein and drew out my blood. It depends on the individual how long the drawing of blood takes, and I think I finished in about 5 minutes. After removing the cannula, the process is almost over. I rested awhile on the bench before my wound was treated.
After that, I took a drink and it was over.
One week gone, in a flash.

Saturday
My friendly neighbour invited my family over for Deepavali.
Tuesday
Went to gym in the morning with my cousin and uncle. Had dinner at Fortunate Resturant in Toa Payoh for my mother's early birthday dinner.
Thursday
Went for my first Discipleship Explored lesson at 7.30pm at QLC. After that, Uncle Joe and Auntie Susie, who normally drive me near my home, had to fetch another church member home. And we ended up eating Tau Huay/beancurd and you tiao at Short Street. The shop name is Rochor Original Beancurd.

Did nothing much in school for today : presented some work during PM, had lunch break, did some short online quiz during ooad2 and tried out the activities in MAD. Had a early dismissal during MAD, so class ended at about 3.30 compated to 5 pm on the timetable.
Thanks to Wee Eng, I am now using blogger beta and stuffs, as you can notice some changes to my blog skin.

I had DOA today so I had to bring this 1000+ page book to school.

Although the book is so thick, I find the module rather useful as it can equip me with the Microsoft Office skills.
Thought I should share this before going to school :
Few weeks ago, while on my way to lunch with my mom and sis, I witnessed an elderly man, who had difficulty walking, possibly due to a stroke or something, climbing up the stairs, with someone helping him. Every step he took, he shouted : Hallelujah! Hallelujah! . Its quite comforting to see that even in that state, he had such strong faith.
Have to go now, shall blog more later, if I have anything more to say

2nd day of school. Class started at 11am today. Met with my friend at the atrium to buy a textbook which has about 1000 pages. It's thick and as heavy as my laptop. Fortunately students have a special price of $33.40 compared to $100+ if you were to buy the book elsewhere. Seems that I'd need to spend some money on textbooks this sem. This semester consists of 3 non examinable modules, the exams for those modules are replaced with assignments.
Due to the bad haze, my eyes were rather irritated today.
While I was watchin CSI Miami, at about 10.20, the shouting idiots struck again. Is there anything that can be done to stop them?
Anyway, while watching the news I saw this (25 new cases of illegal music file-sharing handed over to police). Well, if they really want to wipe out illegal music downloaders, they'll have to construct one new big prision to house everyone. From what I gather, it is even illegal to rip songs of CDs that you own. I wonder how RIAS gets their evidence of illegal music downloading.

First day of school. Tall people have the disadvantage of a higher probability of getting hit on the head by stuff, I hit my head against the ceiling of a double decker bus - twice. Something wrong with me this morning. Eyes felt unconfortable, which made me feel kind of blur, probably due to the haze, which was pretty bad today.
Overall, today was a rather slack day, common for a first day of semester. I found out that I am in the director's list for last semester, something which I did not expect.
Started watching Death Note today, as I was curious after hearing my friends talking about it.
While I was watching Death Note, someone or some people suddenly shouted loudly at the lift area, before quickly escaping into the lift and which shocked everyone. This happened before, but has not happened for a long time. If only I know their name or faces....
How fast time flies, especially when you're having fun. 7 weeks of holidays gone in just a flash. Well at least I managed to accomplish 2 things: 1) completing Christianity Explored at Queenstown Lutheran Church once a week. I would like to thank Don for bringing me there and the nice people at QLC.
2)receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, after attending twice weekly classes in church with Pastor Samuel.
For those of you who are wondering, I've returned back to church after 2.5 years. It has been a journey, but from it I learnt how amazing God works. Having said that, we must realize that our faith must be in God and not our solely on experiences.

I had wanted to blog earlier, but I totally forgotten about my blog's existance. Somehow it has been identified as a spam blog. Hopefully by the time you read this entry the matter is resolved.
